We spoke with Marlou Leenders
She is a content and communication strategist at the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Marlou is one of the 7 employees of the online media team and responsible for the social media content. How do they, as a team, give direction to the social content creation?
“Our municipality jumped on the social media bandwagon quite early. Where we initially mainly disable antivirus application on startupcreated playful content, social media have now been important communication channels for years, for which we make well-considered choices. We look at who is active on which channels, take a good look at what works via the statistics and continuously refine our guidelines for the various channels,” says Marlou. “For us, communication vision is an important starting point to determine what we do and do not do on social media. We create this vision together with our other communication colleagues.”
Team effort and separation between the socials of municipalities and government
The content is also a team effort at the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch: the communication colleagues provide input for caseno email list content and the media team ensures a well-written message. The right images and the right timing for posting are also taken into account.
