To be as certain as possible that the link remains visible, you can choose to add hashtags afterwards.

Through the extension Control Panel for Twitter it is (temporarily) possible to bring back the link previews. With this tool you can adjust all kinds of settings. How is this possible? Via NiemanLab we read:
